Robert Downey Jr. will be SHERLOCK HOLMES, plus Will Ferrell & Sacha Baron Cohen will also be Holmes & Watson!!

So, Robert Downey Jr. makes his 1st move since crushing box offices as Iron Man, he has taken the role of Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming drama from Warner Bros. Guy Ritchie (aka Mrs. Madonna) will direct. I'm guessing this means more ACTION!
Also, Columbia Pictures is putting together a comedic take on the classic tale with Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell.
I wonder if these movies will come out around the same time?! It feels like Hollywood is scared and just rehashing old movies...it's the NEW formula!

Justin Long has been REJECTED (or was it Drew Barrymore?)

Well Drew, I guess he’s really not that into you … after an 11-month courtship, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have called it quits on their relationship and have decided to go their separate ways. They’re dunzo, y’all:

The two will remain friends whatever that means. This isn't unexpected because people

thought this was a mismatch from the get go. Maybe JL will now hang with Cameran Diaz's ex, JT!!!! I'm sure they'll both move on and be absolutely fine.Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have broken up, her rep confirms to PEOPLE. “I can confirm the split with no additional comment,” said the spokesperson. Barrymore, 33, and Long, 30, were first linked in August of last year, when they were spotted at the Los Angeles hotspot the Chateau Marmont. By November, the pair – who costar together in He’s Just Not That Into You – were getting serious. They spent a PDA-packed holiday in Connecticut, including Thanksgiving with Long’s family in his hometown of Fairfield. In the following months, the couple seemed inseparable, partying in Vegas, celebrating Barrymore’s birthday with Cameron Diaz in Los Angeles and hiking in Hollywood. In the March issue of Vogue, Barrymore said of the relationship, “My cheeks hurt, I’m so happy.”

About Jeffrey Wells

Jeffrey Wells writes a daily stream-of-Hollywood-consciousness column for Hollywood Elsewhere, which he's been running on his own since August 2004.

He began his online adventure with a twice-weekly online Hollywood column for Mr. Showbiz in October 1998. He wrote the same column for Reel.com from '99 to '02, and then for Kevin Smith (www.moviepoopshoot.com) from '02 to '04.

Wells wrote and reported regularly for Entertainment Weekly from '91 to '96, for People from '96 to '98 and wrote a weekly Hollywood column for the L.A. Times Syndicate from '94 to '99. He also wrote a weekly N.Y. Daily News, L.A. Times, N.Y. Times, Newsday, Washington Post, Men's Journal, etc. column in '93-'94.

He was born and raised in New Jersey. High school years were split between N.J. and Connecticut. A few years of aimless wandering followed in Connecticut, Boston and Los Angeles. Managing editor for the Film Journal from April '81 to June '83; editor at the Hollywood Reporter from '83 to '84, three or four years of publicity, back to journalism in '89.

A resident of West Hollywood, Wells has two great sons (Jett, 19, and Dylan, 18) whom he doesn't see enough due to a distance of 3,000 miles.
